Today was hand-in date for our competition poster project. I decided to create a photography competition based on the Northern Quarter of Manchester called ‘Urban Click: Capture The Northern Quarter’. My design was very much influenced by the 19th century Royal Theatre posters; using multiple font styles to differentiate the hierarchy in text. Also in this design I inserted a bold image of a vintage camera; this bold look makes the poster stand out and also gives across a clear message on what the competition is about. Here is my final design; I found a selection of different colours worked best together rather than just sticking to the simple black and white style of the Theatre Royal posters:
NOTE: This is not a real competition!!
